Inside
The big bright light shines high in the blue,
The light inside is broken in two.
A stone is the tree in the grass,
Inside the tree splits with a crash.
Tired eyes fall to pleasant memories at night,
Inside they lay restless and never feel right .
Laughter and peace play tag outside,
Screams of distress run wild inside.
Bright colors wave in a gentle breeze,
Inside the storm moves the hardest trees.
Outside dash daisies and laugh lilies,
Inside are shrinking sunflowers and baking buttercups.
Tiny happy bugs flying around,
Inside they flock with horrid sound.
The smiles and joy sing a sweet song,
Inside the tears and screeching cry a wretched dong.
Hands of peace reach down to me,
Inside they go and fill me with glee,
Now outside is in and inside is out!
