Samantha Dickson

My first interviewee is Sam Dickson. She is one of my life long friends and has been an encouragement to me in some hard times. I am so glad to have her as my cousin and friend. She currently a freshman attending Messiah College for Studio Art. Because she is going to Messiah and I am going to Geneva, I had to do the interview over email. I will tell you my question and then paste her reply.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

I love corgis, henna, and people. I especially love my friends.

2. What is your "Rock Bible Verse", the bible verse you hold onto the most?

1 Peter 4:10 “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.”

3. What is a "Life Moment" that you have had that has impacted you in a small or big way?

One time I spent 7 hours straight in the studio wood burning under the ventilation hood in the dark room. The result was something I am proud of and my professor’s reaction really made me feel like I have the right major.

4. What is an encouraging message that you would like other christian girls going to college to know?

Prayer. Is. Vital. There will be so many times you feel like life is out of control. Prayer not only gives you a moment to digest your situation but it also puts all of your struggle in God’s hands, which is right where you want it to be.

5. What is a college pro tip you learned so far?

Think about why you are doing something. So many times I see art majors giving their all to please the professor and forgetting about how the work glorifies God. In the end, what is most important to you?

6. What is your final word for the readers of the blog?

Sleep. That is all.
