Am I worthy? No. I am a sinner. I have sinned repeatedly. Yet, God does not treat me as such. I don't know about you, but I know that I often find myself questioning my worth, especially upon reflection of things I've thought, said, and done. When we only focus on the things we have

done, it can be hard to move past them. It can be difficult to forgive ourselves and sometimes harder than it is to forgive others. We see ourselves daily. We know that we can be better and yet we seem to have this perpetual habit of getting ourselves into trouble. It seems we can do nothing else, but sin. In the beginning, God said that everything was "good" and that included humans (Genesis 1:31). Then, they sinned (Genesis 3) and humans have been sinning ever since. What do we do then? It seems we are not worthy of anything. Everything seems hopeless.
We are so blessed to have a God that loves us enough to not leave us in our sin. In 1 John 1:7

we are informed that "if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin". So, it is through Christ that we are made pure. He died for our sins (1 Corinthians 15:3-8) so that we may be free from sin and become holy and have eternal life (Romans 6:22). 1 John 1:9 tells us that "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness". We must first be willing to admit our sins. By confessing them to God, we do not condemn ourselves rather we invite God to forgive us and purify us from all unrighteousness. Therefore, we become pure from all unrighteousness and become worthy. You must not forget that it is not of your own doing, but that it is through the blood of Christ and the will of the Father. For without the blood of Christ, we are still slaves to sin. Thus, we are only worthy through Christ.
So be encouraged that God loved you enough to send his Son to have his blood shed for your sins. He did this while you were still a sinner and there was no reason for him to do so besides his pure love for you. He loved you as a sinner. Through the blood of Christ you are made pure. So, as being made pure by the blood of Christ, He has no reason to not love you now.
